Basic Troubleshooting Steps

From time to time you may run into a small technical issue that requires some troubleshooting. Here are some basic issues and troubleshooting steps that may resolve your issue quickly without needing IT support.


General AV issues

  • Restart your web browser or video conferencing application
  • Unplug the USB-C dock and plug it back in (tutorial rooms only)
  • Ensure that Zoom is in BYOD mode (tutorial rooms only)


Screens not turning on

  • Tap the room mode again on the wall control panel
  • Ensure that the DisplayLink application is running (MacBook only)


Microphone not working

  • Check that the correct device is selected (e.g. Poly Studio X50 or Ceiling Microphones, depending on the room). You can also try muting and unmuting as this resets the audio connection.


Speaker not working

  • Check that the correct device is selected (e.g. Poly Studio X50 or Ceiling Speakers, depending on the room).


Camera not working

  • Check that the correct device is selected (e.g. Poly Studio X50 or Poly Studio E70, depending on the room).
