Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication

When logging into your CHES Microsoft account for the first time, you will need to set up multi-factor authentication.


Note: If you ever lose access to your multi-factor authentication app, please contact the CHES IT Department via the helpdesk.


Step 1:

Visit https://portal.office.com, enter your email address then click Next




Step 2:

Enter your password and click Sign In




Step 3:

Click Next




Step 4:

Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device then click Next

Note: If you want to use a different authenticator app, click that option here.




Step 5:

Click Next




Step 6:

Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device and tap Scan a QR code




Step 7:

Scan the QR code and click Next




Step 8:

Take note of the number that appears and enter it in the next step




Step 9:

Enter the number from the previous step and tap Yes




Step 10:

Click Next




Step 11:

Click Done
